Buffer babies

Good morning!

I just got my buffer Babies kit in the mail – wow, looks complicated! I have read the instructions, but I just wanted to make sure that I can give the medication whenever and that it does not need to be timed with eating. It looks like it takes 18 capsules of 20 mg of Omeprazole and that lasts 14 days. Since I only received 24 capsules and I don’t see the ped. until Jan 5th, can I make up a smaller dose after 14 days? Also, I received this package free. How much do refills cost?

all I can tell you is that YES you can give the meds at any time…

I know! Lol, but I e-mailed them and they have yet to get back to me. I know, I know I need to wait.

Refills are $7.50, I would suggest purchasing a new bottle as well at $3.50 (I think) That way when one bottle is low you can mix a new batch and use the first bottle until it pumps unevenly (due to once side being empty) and switch to the new bottle.

be careful not to twist the top (pull only) – we did that – not good.

Read the directions and mix carefully.

You are supposed to be able to give with food and not wait. I give janna 10 minutes or so after her dose before feeding (mostly for burping)

Maybe get your Ped to call in an RX refill to your Pharmacy? That way you’ll be able to mix the rest properly. (I’ve never tried to mix only one half the quantity. I can imagine that would be difficult.)

I was charged 13.50 for a refill… Good idea with the extra bottle–I had trouble getting all of the residue out–
They sent me two sets for free–are you sure that you don’t have two sets (4 total little ziplock bags?)–that lasted me a month.
Also– def. see if you can get the scrip called in. You can’t make a small batch (at least I don’t think so) It would be easier to just make a complete batch.
as long as you follow the directions step by step, it’s easy to make. I actually liked doing it! must be the lab scientist in me!

I only had 3 packages so I think they forgot one of the packages when they sent me the first one – oh well better get on it!
