InactiveWell I have a 3.5 yr. old and a 5 yr. old. Some things they like are;
For lunch or supper:
Pizza, grilled cheese sandwhiches, almond butter (or peanutbutter) and jam sandwhiches, tuna sandwiches, cheese and crackers, french toast or pancakes, waffles, yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken nuggets (most kid love them), chicken breasts, or rotisserie chicken (most grocery stores sell them already cooked and ready to eat), cheeseburgers, spaghetti and meatballs, soups. I usually serve them something from this list and then add some fruits, berries, or melons, and some kind of raw or cooked veggie.
Have fun with your little brother!

InactiveI would talk to your parents and see what he likes to eat at home, that way you know his preferences in advance. All kids that age have favourites and usually like what they’re used to.
My daughter is 4 and here are some of her favourites- the good thing with these is that you can either make them from scratch or use processed/packaged depending on what you prefer-
breakfast- cereal, fruit, cheese, yogurt, minigo, cottage cheese, bagels with cream cheese
snacks- goldfish crackers, homemade popsicles, crackers and cheese, fruit, pita and hummus, veggies cut up with ranch dressing dip or guacamole dip
lunch/dinner- homemade mac and cheese, chicken strips with dipping sauce, homemade french fries/ sweet potato fries, mini pizzas on English muffins or one large pizza made at home (my dd loves to make this herself), Jane’s genuine scottish haddock (my daughter loves it though it is prepackaged), spagghetti with meatballs, fajitas (fun for the kids), and I know I’ll get boos for this but… veggie dogs or hamburgers/veggie burgers (I like the Licks brand) on the barbecue (they’re not the healthiest and you need to be sure to cut them up in strips or in half)
veggies- broccoli (with or without a topping like cheese sauce), corn, steamed baby carrots, green beans, chick peas, sugar snap peas, or raw veggies cut up with dip
dessert- summer fresh fruit is our favourite right now (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, grapes- we still cut them in half b/c I’m paranoid), fresh fruit served with vanilla yogurt, ice cream (as a treat)

Keymasterjonah is just about 4(!)
& I agree with all of the above…he will tell you what he likes, too, but don’t get fooled, lol! and, if you give him a choice, just give a choice between TWO things (not: “what do you want for lunch today?”) if he doesn’t want one of the TWO things, then say, “well, it’s your choice between these two things, otherwise you might be hungry if you don’t eat”
he’ll choose something LOL!!
alos w/ Jonah if I’m going ot make something I sometimes ask “will you eat ____ if I make it?”
that way I don’t go making something and then he turns around and says “but I don’t like ___!” (
)also: I find if I involve jonah in making things he’ll eat it- like a grilled cheese (help him spread the butter/margarine, etc), or if I make Annie’s mac n’ cheese (it comes in a purple box & it’s prepackaged for indv’dl meals
) then I have him pour the water from the measuring cup into the bowl, pour the macaroni into the bowl, stir in the cheese, etc…jonah likes to make his own bean & cheese burritos, too- you could do tacos as well- refried beans, or ground beef or turkey or chicken,
sloppy joes…
there’s ravioli, tortellini, frozen Amy’s brand little squares filled with spinach/feta, bean/cheese, pizza stuff
I’ve gone from making all of Jonah’s baby food to buying a lot of frozen stuff- however, I check the ingredients, etc to make sure it’s not pure junk…so Amy’s brand is good, so are the ‘munchies’ made by Man’s Health/god’s wealth (something like that)…I buy frozen ravioli & check to see which brand has the highest % of calcium… -
