Hi! I haven’t been around in a really long time and I got the urge to stop by tonight. I started to reply to a post and it just felt wrong to do that without posting an update. So, here goes…
Both girls are doing really well! Despite Kaelyn’s major reflux issues as an infant, we aren’t seeing any signs in either girl now. They are both off of all reflux meds. We actually just threw away the last of the prevacid and zantac and the mylanta in our cabinet expired! I would never have believed that back in the days when we were going through that stuff like it was water.Kaelyn is 4 1/2 and growing like crazy. She’s still got a lot of allergy issues, but we are getting ready to test later in the spring so we have a good grip in her allergies before she goes off to kindergarten. She had her tonsils and adenoids removed last Monday because she’d had strep 5 times in 6 months. The doctors tell us that there’s a good chance that this will also help her sleep more soundly. She’s had a tough time recovering from the surgery (mostly because we are idiots and forgot to liberally dose her liquid diet – all soy products – with miralax, so she ended up severely constipated), but she’s finally starting to act more like herself today.Alex is 2 1/2 and is embracing the terrible twos in a way that her sister never dreamed of. She wants to do everything that her big sister does, but she wants to do it in even bigger ways. She’s stubborn, independent and too smart for her own good. We try to constantly remind ourselves that we’ll appreciate those traits when she gets older. Of course, that’s assuming that she makes it to adulthood without suffering major trauma or brain injury from all of the crazy things that she does. She’s recovering from pneumonia right now, so she’s a little more mellow than normal, but I’m sure that she’ll be back to her crazy self soon!Okay, that’s enough for now, I’m sure! I’m going to try to post a reply with a picture of the girls.pkkb 2008-12-19 22:44:19 December 19, 2008 at 10:49 pm #59751AnonymousInactiveHere’s their Christmas picture – I hope it works!

Thanks so much for the picture and update! The girls are so beautiful and look so happy! I’m so glad to hear that everything is going well and that reflux is a thing of the past. Hailey has also been off meds and it is such a great feeling. A few of the “oldies” logged on a while back to post some updates in the keeping in touch forum, in case you want to hear from some others who don’t come around too often. Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday to you and your family.HUGS.December 20, 2008 at 9:53 am #59758AnonymousInactivethey are beautiful and so happy!!!!!!!!!!!! great to hear from you!

December 22, 2008 at 4:25 pm #59808AnonymousInactiveHi, Kim- thanks for the update! I was just thinking of you and the girls the other day. A lot of us ‘oldies’ don’t get on quite as much these days but I guess that could be considered a good thing!!
The girls are adorable and that is such a cute picture. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!December 22, 2008 at 4:36 pm #59810AnonymousInactiveKIm,

A little more fire we could deal with – she’s a raging inferno! To be fair, she’s not that bad, but she does keep us on our toes! Thanks for all the kind words. This site was such a lifesaver when Kaelyn was going through her major reflux mess, I feel like I need to do a better job of sticking around and helping others that are still going through so much!pkkb2008-12-22 21:07:13
