InactiveI just bought Seth a Doodlebops DVD because although I have grown to really like The Wiggles, I figured he could use some variety (we probably have no less than 10 Wiggles DVDs) but I think the Doodlebops are even more annoying (and he wants to watch all the time- brought it to preschool today for movie day!) Good voices but I can’t get past all of that make-up. Are there any other programs anyone would recommend? He does like Barney but we have enough of those and he seems to be outgrowing his Teletubbies and Baby Einstein movies. We also tried Elmo’s World and Bob the Builder but those don’t really hold his attention for some reason.

InactiveDylan is a bit older, but he really likes the Winnie the Pooh and Tigger DVD’s. They took a while for him to get into them, but they have really good morals to the stories.
Other than that, he is a game show fan, so I am probably not the best one to ask
I have a funny story I will post to one of the other threads…April 24, 2007 at 9:37 am #31299Anonymous
InactiveAnn Marie, that is wild about the game shows– I’ll be sure to check out your other post!

InactiveParker is just a few months older than Seth, and Dora the Explorer and Wonder Pets are his favorites as far as TV programs go. He also likes Diego and Backyardigans. We don’t really have any of those kinds of DVDs (just movie DVDs).

InactiveI second wonderpets and Backyardigans. I have over ten Backyardigans on my DVR for Gabby’s really crabby days. Like today, she is sick and the only thing that made her happy was relaxing and watching tv. I know bad, but what can you do?

InactiveBen is pretty close in age to Seth, and his absolute favourite is the Backyardigans! We have 3 of the DVDs and they each have 4 episodes on them. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen them, and I think they’re pretty cute – not irritating or annoying like so many other kids shows. Ben really loves the music in them.
Does Seth like cars? Ben has always loved toy cars and trucks, so we bought him the Disney Cars movie, thinking maybe he would like it. Well he loves it too! He’s a big Lightening McQueen fan.

InactiveMy DD is 5 and she loves The Land Before Time videos. She also loves Winnie the Pooh and most of the other disney videos. I watch them before i allow her to watch them b/c something i just don’t like for her. i hope that helps.

InactiveMy kids all loved the Fisher Price Little People videos at Seth’s age. Kipper was another favorite.

InactiveKaelyn loves Dora, Diego, Wonderpets (although the duck’s voice drives dh crazy!), Backyardigans and Winnie the Pooh. Her absolute favorite right now is the Little Einsteins. She goes crazy for them.

InactiveAdriana loves the Backyardigans, Wonderpets, and Little Einsteins. I have my DVR filled with them!! Those are the only cartoons she will watch.

InactiveBrianna is a bit younger, but she loves her signing time videos (they teach sign language, which was an added bonus for us, but mostly it has kept her away from some of the other ones out there, that I am sure she will find, but I wanted to delay it as much as possible
). My neice who is 8 is the one who gave it to her and she still loves them.April 25, 2007 at 4:51 pm #31443Anonymous
InactiveThanks for the ideas everyone. We really don’t watch TV all the time (although he would if I let him).
MFPIx2, we do have the Cars movie but Seth isn’t into yet although he likes a bunch of Cars toys. It kills Dh because he always wants to watch it!

Inactiveoh, is Diego a different program than Dora? I just thought he was a new character on Dora but am seeing him everywhere now. They just changed Seth’s pampers from Bob the Builder to Diego!

InactiveYes, Diego is different than Dora. Kaelyn is actually more into him now than Dora.
