InactiveI wanted to start this thread because of all the little refluxers who have been so sick lately, and as we all know, it’s so much harder for them to handle being sick.
A couple years ago, my family got hit with a slew of viruses, bacteria, you name it. We were all sick for 3 weeks straight, and it was really bad. I remember my in-laws bringing us dinner almost every night during this time because my husband and I couldn’t move! It was horrible. My point is, we decided to start using colloidal silver, and after that my kids have been sick much less, and when we they are it is SO mild. (Knock on wood!) My kids are hardly ever sick for more than one or two days & it rarely results in a doctor’s visit. I think my kids have only had to be on antibiotics like once since then and it was when Bry was in the hospital and they were with grandparents (and without silver).
For those of you who don’t know, Colloidal Silver is a natural remedy. It’s what people used long ago before there were antibiotics. It can be used to strengthen your immune system, and it’s an anti-bacterial and anti-viral. It’s safe for babies & kids.
Whenever one of us starts getting sick we take a dose and it usually will take it away. It does work best if you can catch the sickness before it gets bad. Also, if one of my kids have been around someone sick, I’ll give them a dose as a preventative. It’s SO amazing.
Just to forewarn you, as you research this stuff, you’ll come across something called
Argyria. This is a graying of the skin that has been known to be caused by colloidal silver, BUT it only happens with silver that has been made wrong. The best brand (IMO) to use is ASAP. It’s the most trustworthy brand, and it is made the right way and wouldn’t cause argyria. (Believe me, I did TONS of research before I ever let my kids take the stuff.) If you want to read more about it, go to: http://www.asapsolution.com/. There are other brands, but this is the one I like (and I feel safest with). So Anyway, I just wanted to pass on this information to anyone who’s interested. I’m not marketing the product or anything. It’s just helped my family SO much, and I wanted to pass it on.

Inactivethanks, its safe for babies under age of one as well?
December 13, 2006 at 6:31 pm #20306Anonymous
InactiveYes, it’s safe. You only have to give babies about 1/4 tsp… And it just tastes like water, so there’s usually not a problem getting them to take it.

Inactivewow, that’s awesome information, my oldest gets sick ALL the time in the winter. Mostly lung related crud. I think I’ll give it a try, anything is better than watching him use his nebulizer again because he’s caught some cold that has yet again turned into pnemonia of bronchitus for him (my husband is also chronically sick and as most of us know(a lot of) men, for some reason, have issues with going to the dr). Ty!!!

InactiveInteresting. Thanks for the info. I’m all for anything natural that boosts immunity. We could sure use it around here.

So, you give it when they seem to be coming down with something, but not everyday, right?
December 13, 2006 at 8:53 pm #20327Anonymous
InactiveYou can give it everyday as a preventative. I’ve done that before if there seems to be a lot of sickness going around. Especially if you’re around other people a lot… shopping, church, school, etc.

Inactivei don’t think it is something i would want to mess with—-i’ve heard a little controversy about it.

Inactivehttp://www.asapsolution.com/faqs.html#whatcausesargyria
Argyria has never been reported with the use of low part-per-million,
non-salt related silver products [like ASAP Solution]. In fact, because so many silver
products are being used nationwide, the US EPA issued a RFD or (daily
intake limit) level of silver that could be safely consumed every day
for a person’s entire life. The US Federal Register listed the silver products that cause argyria
as silver salts, including; silver nitrate, silver arsphenamine, silver
chloride and possibly silver iodide. So look for silver that’s not salt related… salt-related ones are the only ones that could cause Argyria.
BUT if you’re interested, it’s something you should research yourself and pray about. That’s what we did.
