I have a question about compounded Prilosec. I’ve done a tone of reading
on this site, and just want to confirm what I understand (very sleep
deprived, and feeling kind of dumb). I have a call into our GI, and want to
be fully armed with info when he calls back.
Can compounded Prilosec be given without regard to the timing of a
meal? From what I think I read in one of Joel’s posts, yes. Can anyone
confirm that for me?
We’ve had spotty success since starting Prilosec nearly two weeks ago. I’d
say 3 good nights, but not in a row. My concerns for the GI are the fact
that our Prilosec is compounded with only 8.4% sodium bicarb, and the
accuracy of the dosage when there are so many granules floating around
in the compound. I’m also wanting his dosage upped–he is only on 14
mg per day, based on his weight of 15 lbs two weeks ago.
Also, can anyone put it very simply why Zegerid might be any better than
what we are using? Is the dosing more accurate?
Thanks!
