Constantly Upping Med Doses?

Hey ladies! I haven’t been on in a while, got really busy with getting ready for Christmas.

Anyways Conner is about 14 pounds now maybe a bit over, the sleeping through the night has once again ceased lol and we’re back up several times a night.

I have had him on 3.7 ML of zantac and 30mg of Prevacid. I checked Marci-Kids med calculator today and at 14 pounds they said his max is 36MG. So do I just keep him on the 30MG for a while longer or do I go ahead an up the dose?

My doc won’t go that high on his meds….which surprises me because he said he was on board with the Marci-kids dosaging, which im finding out he isn’t 100% on board.

So do I just ask him for more pills this time around so im not cut short because of giving him 2 1/2 tablets?

Anyways….up the dose or not on both meds? Thats my main question. I will figure out how to deal with the doctor or lack thereof afterwards.

Also for the Zantac at 14 pounds thats 6.3 kg body weight so 10mg per kg that puts him at 60.3 mg he can have total.

so I take 15 times 60 to get ML’s

just making sure I do this right so I can quit asking lol.

6.3kg x 10 = 63

63 divided by 15 = 4.2MLs total for the day, divided into 2 doses however you want

okay so I multiply his kg’s by 10

and divide the answer by the mg’s

is that right lol im trying to understand that way I can quit asking lol

oh, ok!

you take weight in kilos and multiply by 10

and get a ‘big’ number

your example: 6.3kg x 10 = 63

take that number (in your case it’s 63)

and divide by 15 to get total # of MLs

then you can do what you want with the total MLs for the day

ahh ok! I got it now lol. My apologies I never did pass math class lmao. Im horid at math.

Oh- Anyway I can get Conner to take the Zantac better? He tends to scream after I give it to him. I tried 0.5ML of the Mylanta Supreme cherry and he didnt like that either lmao.

all I can think of is to try mixing the zantac directly w/ the mylanta…

or some have had success w/ getting hte pharmacy to flavor the zantac grape- I never tried that, though…or try another med like tagament or pepcid or axid, but I’m not as good at figuring out the dose for those, LOL!!!

lol, well I can keep trying it with the Mylanta. Maybe he will get used to it eventually.
