Can anyone help?? I dont want to mess with her belly too much by offering her juice to drink but she’s only pooped 1x since Tuesday and that was via a suppository:(

here is a little bit about what to do for those babies who can’t take solids yet. I was that way when we first started Neocate, but then gradually his body got used to it within about 2 weeks. We did prune juice and that made blowout diapers for us. But my son was 4 mo before we started Neocate.

we added a bit of dark kayro syrup to the bottle from time to time and that did the trick. It was a bit of an experiment to get the right amount, but it did work for us. will the doc help with miralax or something? Also, mylanta cherry supreme always helped my boys go as well…

I’m not sure if this would help at all, but it worked for my DD when she was constipated…I would give her 1-2oz of plain water if she hadn’t gone in a day and usually by the next day or later that day, she’d be able to go. I know some ppl don’t think babies that little should have water, but our Ped. said it was ok and it did the trick for Averi.

We used Miralax for Landen. It is gentle enough for little babies. Always ask your pedi first, esp for dosing and all of that. 🙂

Did he need help in the first two weeks? Did the amount of poop dramatically decrease? My daughter has gone from three full diapers a day(always really runny-which was prob the milk allergy) to only one with a suppository-and there’s barely anything in it?? I feel like we started to get one issue under control and have started another?

Did you also start prevacid? I ask b/c it was a PPI that actually constipated Landen, not the Neocate. We found out when we started weaning him of the PPI. The Neocate can constipate also. A lot of moms on here find that one or the other or both constipate their babies, but that the benefits of being on a ‘good’ formula are worth having to use a laxative of some sort. lol

I know it is still frustrating though. And yes, we noticed constipation right away. I would try to use something soon as constipation can worsen reflux. I am sorry!
