Does OTC Zegerid dosing change with weight?

Hi all,

I”m new here! My son is 6 weeks old and 9.5 lbs. We were diagnosed with reflux at 2 weeks and Zantac didn’t help. Our pedicatrician recommended OTC Prevacid capsules 15 mg a day. We split the capsules and give half in the morning and half at night. interestingly enough he did not tell us to give with apple juice or applesauce like I’m reading here.

However, it worked great for about two weeks. But for the last two days my son’s symptoms have returned: arching back, screaming during and after eating, hating to be laying down, spitting, choking, coughing, etc. It’s awful! I’m not sure if I need to increase the dosage of Prevacid?

I’ve been reading a lot on these forums and I’d like to try OTC Zegerid. I found the directions posted on another page of this forum to do OTC Zegerid dosing with Mylanta Cherry Supreme as a buffer, but it’s unclear to me if hte dosage changes with weight?

I can’t find a dose chart for it?
