EE or allergic esophagitis

Landen’s GI wants to do an endoscopy on him. I am sooo skeptical b/c he has to be put completely under for the procedure. But he says that Landen’s symptoms are pointing to possible EE or allergic esophagitis. Can anyone tell me what EE is and if anyone has a baby/toddler with EE what the major symptoms were and how they are being treated now. Do they outgrow it either way? I am not sure if allergic esoph. is the same thing or not. I am still trying to decide if I want to put him through the testing. I am scared to death of him being put to sleep.

The symptoms of EE are often the same as the symptoms of reflux so it can be hard to distinguish. Our GI thought that Hailey may have had this so we had a scope done, and it came back clear. The problem is that even though a scope comes back negative, it can come back positive at later times. I know of someone from another forum who this happened to. There’s a lot of info about this on the web if you do a search (sorry I don’t have any links). Good luck. From our experience, the scope is actually pretty easy (and I was also really worried about it before we had it done). Keep us posted.
