Experience with TummyCare Max?

I am about to start my 4-month-old on TummyCare Max (with otc prilosec) and would really appreciate advice from others who have used it.

Does everyone really experience a bad two weeks when starting out? Even if the child is already taking a ppi compound and if you titrate up the dose?

Also has anyone had success dosing only twice a day instead of three times?

If you give three doses a day, how close together do you give the doses? I’m sure it would be ideal to dose every 8 hours, but that would be extremely difficult.

I have never used Tummy Care Max so I am sorry I can’t help you but Laura on this site knows a lot about it. And I am sure that soon she will come help you out! 🙂

While you wait for her you could check out my blog. 🙂 We found that a probiotic/digestive enzyme helped our boys tremendously with their reflux. As babies they had to drink Nutramigen and they were on Prevacid until we found that alkaline water counteracted their excess acidity. A year later we learned about the probioitcs and enzymes and have been extremely impressed at how much it has helped them!

just do it! lol! but no, it was excellent for my son. We did still have the wait time because the compound from the pharmacy was no effectiv. but you might have a different experience! it was day 12 for us! we gave zantac, too, spaced 2 hrs (you’re supposed to space 4 but it worked for us) – so much of this is trial & error…

We’re on day six and it’s really rough. She’s much worse right now. I so hope I can stick it out and that it works for us.

Is there anything I can do to minimize the discomfort during the transition?

give zantac, too!

or pepcid or tagament or axid – whatever you may have.

Space it 4 hrs from the prevacid.
