Finally Babbling!

Jackson is 10 months old and has finally started babbling! I was going crazy trying to figure out why he was not meeting this milestone. I even had his hearing checked. Turns out, he is just a late bloomer in the verbal department. He started walking a few weeks ago and has always met his physical milestones early. I guess that he was waiting until he learned how to walk to start focusing on verbal tasks. He is constantly saying dee dee dee dee now. It might not be advanced for his age, but I WILL TAKE IT! We are so excited. It means that he is hearing despite his ear infections! His reflux is still constant, but it is nice to have some developmental progress despite his reflux drama. It is so cute to watch him try to talk through his four little teeth! Priceless.

Yay! Congrats… my 1st ds didn’t babble until 16mths so I KNOW how hard it is waiting for that to happen!

That is wonderful news. You will laugh one day when all you want is for him to be quite. Cooper talks in his sleep now… wakes me up at night and I think he is awake, but he isn’t just talking in his sleep. Our new favorite words are “baby, bye bye and mow mow”..Just wait they are coming.

I have read that babies tend to “focus” on one developmental area for a while until it’s mastered and then move on. I bet you’re right and he was doing that too! I hope he continues to babble up a storm! Yay!
