Flavor Packets

Ali is 8 months old, and after months of battling unrelenting constipation and horrible reflux, we’re going to make the switch from breastfeeding to elemental formula (Elecare) to see if that makes a difference. I’m already dairy/soy free, which has helped, but not enough.

I’m not optimistic about getting her to take the Elecare as it is, so I’m wondering if anyone has had success with any of the flavor packets. If so, what brand/flavor?

I am wondering about flavor packets too. I am wondering if we can ask
the pharmacist not to put in the flavoring to the prilosec and that we
will do it for each dose, to hopefully keep it from destablizing.

Anyone know? Where would you get flavor packets?

I *think* kelly is asking about flavoring that comes with some formulas for the older toddlers/babies…like neocate jr comes with flavors- I could be wrong!…

as for flavoing an unflavored suspension: the pharmacist can just give you the flavoring seperately…also, as i’ve mentioned in another post, I really recommed you hunt down a pharmacy that uses FlavorX brand flavorings for their compounds (like when babies get cherry flavired or banana flavored antibiotics, etc, for example) and then you can get caracream. we used it for about a year & it’s yummy- I tasted it myself- it’s like a white chocolate/yogurt covered pretzle

Thank you Laura, i was going to call the pharmacy we use, they flavor
meds so maybe they can get it, if we don’t try Prevacid solutabs.

sigh…

These poor babies..maybe we ought to find out when the next Academy of
Pediatrics is holding their meeting and we can protest that they know
nothing about refluf and they should learn.

I say we all bring our screaming babies (or like me, grandbabies) into the meeting 🙂

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m asking about I just found out that EleCare now comes in vanilla, so I’m trying to track that down.
