flavoring prevacid compound at home

I am so glad I found this board! After months of using a compound which the pharmacy swore was stable, I have finally gotten them to make it the correct way according to the specifications I read about here. I get to pick it up Monday! They fought me on it and told me by baby wont take it cause it will taste so bad.

I read that you can flavor it yourself at home per dose, but how? What do you use for flavoring??

I am PRAYING this will be what finally helps my LO. We tried solutabs last week and she had a terrible reaction to them.

I’m not sure what’s safe for babies?

I’d say rice syrup? go to a natural/health foods store…

people have used chocolate syrup, but I can’t reccomend that w/ good conscience, for a baby…

I think rice syrup would be ‘safe’ rather than corn syrup…and you wouldn’t need to give a lot of it! under 1ml!

I’ve also heard the jello pudding mixes (vanilla) are good for flavoring. They are also MSPI friendly.
