I recently saw a book on Oprah that I think would be great for sleep training. It’s called “Good Night, Sleep Tight” I don’t remember the author, but I found the book on Amazon.com. She has mom sit on a chair in the room with the baby for as long as it takes for baby to fall asleep. (It better be a comfy chair) She has you pick baby up if he’s hysterical. Put baby back down, etc. I don’t remember the whole plan exactly, but it seemed very reasonable to me and very similar to how I got all my babies to sleep well. (I didn’t use a chair, but I stayed with them when they cried and always went in to comfort them, never did CIO with any of them). I think she said the plan generally works in 10 days!!!
