Got Prevacid yesterday and…

I took dd to the doctor yesterday and told her the zantac just wasnt doing it. I would have thought that maybe she would be her at the correct dosage first of that but she switched her to Prevacid. The doctor told me give it to her 30 mins AFTER a meal. I asked her several times so AFTER a meal?? I knew that wasnt right to begin with! So when I got the script filled it says on the package 30 mins BEFORE on a sticker and the doctor’s directions say after! I really dont have much faith that this doctor knows too much about reflux. If we dont have luck with prevacid I am going to look for a gi ped. What is the best way to give my dd the prevacid? Just try and hold it in her cheek or what? Also the doctor didnt say to keep taking the zantac but having read on here I think I need to. So I already gave her the Zantac this morning and going to give the prevacid around 3 or 4 so should I still give another dose of zantac 4 hrs after that?

keep with the zantac until you SEE that it isn’t needed anymore. how will you know? you’ll know!

solutabs need to be given on an empty stomach, follwed by a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later…
you can give by holding along inside of cheeck & then squirting some water (I like 1ml syringes) to wash it down
or you can dissolve the tab in as much water as it takes to get it into your baby- thick paste or thin liquid
or you can try using a medicine dropper to administer- the bulb kind of dropper that comes w/ infant tylenol- like that- dissolve the tab w/ water and give w/ the dropper
there is no ‘one’ way…

Ok thanks! I am going to give it to her when she wakes up from her nap. I just hope I have enough Zantac to last two wks!
