We have the graco snugride and Jackson spits up excessively every time I place him in it. Has anyone else experienced this? He is only 3 months old and since the snugride is rated well for safety, I was reluctant to switch. But, I might need to buy another one so that he does not drench himself every time we go somewhere. He hates his seat right now! Any recommendations?
December 10, 2007 at 4:55 pm #46311hellbenntKeymasteryou can go right for the Britax (marathon) seat (it comes w/ an infant insert, even) and this seat will be good until he’s at least 4 years old (Jonah is pushing 4 & 1/2 & he’s still in his britax)
the only downside is that you can’t lug it around like an infant seat, but that’s where babywearing really comes in handy, LOL!!!
December 23, 2007 at 8:49 am #46655AnonymousInactiveThank you for the advice, Laura. I think that I will buy the Britax. As soon as I put my son in the snugride, he refluxes all over! Is this unlikely to happen in the Britax? Do you think that he will fuss as much in it? What makes it better? Is it just reclined more?

September 30, 2008 at 12:30 pm #57230AnonymousInactiveI have the same experience with the snugride, unfortunately. The little guy cries every time I put him in there!
September 30, 2008 at 1:25 pm #57240AnonymousInactiveWe moved Evan to the Britax Marathon @ 3.5mths old & the cryiing got significantly better.
October 1, 2008 at 12:59 am #57279AnonymousInactiveI vote for the Marathon also!
May 6, 2009 at 5:14 pm #62425AnonymousInactiveI have the same problem! I have to wash her car seat cover weekly, it’s so bad! I’m planning on switching to the Britax Boulevard soon.
May 7, 2009 at 7:57 am #62432hellbenntKeymasterthere’s a new seat coming out next month- a graco that rear faces to 45lbs- a higher rear-facing than the britax- it’s meant to be competitive w/ the britax marathon…I AM VERY PRO rear-facing!!!! for as long as the seat will allow!!! ari will be 3 in July and he is still rear-facing in the marathon!

May 7, 2009 at 6:45 pm #62440AnonymousInactiveI just wanted to post a quick update– after reading this thread, I switched the little one over to the Marathon, when he was around 6 months. So much better! He actually (usually) likes to get in the car now. The snug ride must scrunch their little bellies.

May 1, 2011 at 10:45 pm #68321AnonymousInactiveThanks for the information.. I have a snug ride and my son HATES IT,, well actually both my sons have hated it. My first son i changed one that goes from 5 lbs to 80 lbs at 3 months and has been fine since. I haven’t changed my 2nd son yet and he is the one with the acid reflux.. I greatly appreciate this. We are in the car for 4 hrs going to see doctors and that is just one way.. I will be putting his other car seat in the car tonight!
