Hi,
I’m no expert, but I use Hyland’s colic drops (they taste like antacid, but are herbal only) which is like your gripe water. They work within 5 minutes and last up to 10 minutes, which is sometimes all that’s needed to get Kayla over the hump of going to sleep.
I called their 1800 number and a pharacist told me that there’s no record of any medication interfering with these colic tablets. There hasn’t been a particular study that I know of, but no incidents have been reported. And they’re always sold out when I look for them at the drugstore–a sign that they work for others, too!
I also got approval from my doc to use them alongside prevecid. However, after reading the nov 15 post here, i wonder if the tablets should not be given within an hour of my prevecid. I use liquid prevecid. Perhaps the tablets of prevecid would be eroded by the colic tablets if they interfered with the stomach’s PH.
