We tried the Hyland’s even though they have lactose and found that they did not bother Lucas’ reflux/MSPI issues. I don’t know if it’s jsut such a small amount or what, but he’s showed no signs of it bothering him. If anything, Hylands are one of the only things that really HELP him when he’s teething. Also, I can’t remember if I mentioned that Hyland’s also makes a teething Gel. It is AWESOME. It seems to really help Lucas. I’m in CA and found it at Pavilions, but have also seen it now at a natural health food store called Wild Oats and another mom told me she saw it once at Rite Aid. It has the same ingrediants as the Hyland’s teething tablets, but goes straight onto the gums. Did I mention to you about being able to give more than three teething tablets at a time? LEt me know if I already gave you that info. I would just try it and if she doesn’t seem bothered then hopefully it will really help!

time. She’s going crazy the last few days. Maybe I should
try it before she eats. Sometimes the Hyland’s seem to help her
mellow out and go to sleep. I’ll go check out the teething gel
and the Boiron’s Camilia. Thanks. As far as her napping, I have been letting her do her own thing
lately. She is tired by 7:30 so I give her a bath and let her
roll around. Then I give her a bottle and rock her to sleep by
8:30-8:45am. She will only eat when she is really tired cause her
mouth hurts so bad. She’s been taking 3 hour naps in the morning
until 12pm (this week only) and I’ve also noticied that she cannot go
longer than 2 hours without a nap or downtime too. Even if it’s
15 minutes. I just wish that she would take a longer nap in the
middle of the day so that the afternoon and night aren’t so
rough. I always have to hold her for the two later naps.
She won’t let me put her down.Has anyone noticied that if the first nap is long that the wakeup time
in the morning is early? Also, since we figured the MSPI and
fixed the med’s….she started feeling better, then WHAM….she’s
teething like crazy……..so NOW it takes me at least 5 tries to get
her in her crib without crying. Sometimes more sometimes less;
day and night. It came all of a sudden. She would always go
down so easily now it’s a battle. Anyone had this happen so
suddenly? I wonder if it’s because she’s 6 months old and the
separation thing and teeth etc.?Sulu2006-2-18 13:23:42

Nothing but mama and nursing (and sometimes meds) will really suffice. So, if she’s anything like my little guy, what you are experiencing could be from teething. I guess it could be something else as well, but it could definitely be just turning into the clingy miserable reflux/MSPI/teether.
Have you tried doing children’s benadryl &/or children’s motrin w/ decongestant? My ped gi said that the motrin really made sense since it’s an anti-inflammatory as well as a pain reliever, although some refluxers don’t do well with motrin….Just another thought. for us, the teething episodes as I’ve come to call them, can last anywhere from a few days but it’s more like a week-10 days for Lucas. So, I’d wait two weeks and if the teething subsides and she’s still doing strange things, then maybe something additional is going on. Hang in there!!
