DS is 9 months and I don’t know if his reflux is under control or not. My Ped is not going by Marci Kids for their dosing. Right now we are maxed out on what they allow. We are doing 15 mg Prevacid solutabs. We dissolve those in 5 ml of water, and suck up 2 ml of the solution. We do this two times a day (late morning and night).
But his nursing has been horrible lately, and he is arching his back and wont let you put him down.
When nursing, it is so hard to describe what he is doing..but I’ll try.
He latches on, He pulls his head as far away from the body as he can with being latched on. My areola is litterally cone shaped with the nipple forming the pointy end and the upper area rounded. He pulls it totally tight/taught as he can. Any attempts to put his head/face closer to the breast meets with resistance. He then starts using his hands to either push the breast tissue even further away (and trust me this hurts and the skin is already tight and has no room to move or give), or puts his hands against my body and pushes his upper body further away in an attempt to pull the nipple even tighter/further away from my body. He continues to nurse while doing this and does not break the suction. Trust me, I am so raw/sore it is not even funny.
Any suggestions. We just moved up to the 2 ml from 1.5 ml about 3 weeks ago.
He is also drooling, but I have been passing this off as teething…I mean it is running out of his mouth most of the time…
