InactiveI have no idea where to start? Over the last 4-5 weeks, my son has been able to tolerate bananas, pears, brown rice & hamburger. This has been a huge step for us because he was unable to eat anything prior to this except Neocate. So this morning he woke up to a BM that was streaked with what appeared to be blood. I was not thinking at 6am this morning & I am kicking myself because I should have saved it & had it tested.
So here is what has happened over the last 2 weeks that makes me so confused on where to go. A week ago today we introduced a new food and he was ok that afternoon. The next day I gave it to him again & he was still ok. An hour later he had a bm that was filled with mucus so I stoped that food. The mucus disapperared. On Wed. he started with a little running nose off and on but is not sick, no fever, cough nothing just a running nose when he is playing in the family room. I started to think he had an allergy to the christmas tree we just cut down because his nose does not run when he is upstairs. On saturday he had another bm that was filled with mucus again. Now today it had the blood.
The only other thing that has happend was a few weeks ago my dh decided to see if he could tolerate pizza (when I wasn’t home) & let him have it. He ended up with projectile vomiting, reflux flaring up and since then he has not been able to tolerate a single food we have tried (may not have anything to do with each other?)
Has anyone experienced problems after they where on a food for 4-5 weeks and what do I start taking away? Do you think it is something left over from the pizza eposide? I think his little runny nose has something to do with an allergy because he is not sick at all. I am so confused & he doesn’t go back to the allergist til next week (not that he is a lot of help). Should I start eliminating one food at a time or take everything away because he needs to heal?
This is such an emotional set back for me because I feel like I am right back to where I was 16 months ago with the blood & mucus when he was born. I feel like giving up!!!

KeymasterI have no idea if this is even helpful. but it came to mind when I read your post. it probably is for a breastfeeding mother but maybe your baby could benefit directly? :
There’s an article at Dr Jack Newman’s site about the use of Pancrease (digestive enzymes) to resolve blood in the stools.
info here

ok just googled it- seems like pancrease isn’t for babies- but maybe it can be?
