Well I am back to thinking it is a stomach virus. He has vomitted like crazy all afternoon. We have had 3 wet diapers all day but he still have tears so i am just watching him now.

InactiveSo far today has been ok. He woke up with throw up all over his bed and bumper on his crib. Other than that nothing and he actually ate 5 oz! That is more than he has in weeks now! I feel like i need to get out of the house but that is not going to happen any time soon as dh is working late again!
Is Marisa feeling any better today?

InactiveHopefully he has turned a corner and feels all better soon!
M had a rough night – fever of 103.8 at 9:15 pm but it was time for
Motrin and fell back asleep (also put cool compresses on her). Woke
again at 3:30 and she felt a bit cooler but didn’t take her temp- more
Motrin and right to sleep until 6:40. She’s been on Motrin basically
all day but no fever so far (it’s 3pm)! Fingers crossed that it might
have broken. She’s still quite congested and not really herself but is
drinking more today and playing a little more too.Keep me posted on Isaac!

InactiveHow is Isaac feeling?

InactiveHe was just fine since yesterday morning (not counting his grouchiness) We ended up calling the ped again on saturday night. They seem to think it was a milk protein allergy but said we will discuss this in more detail on thursday. His eczema flared up really bad! So it really does seem like it is all pointing towards the mspi thing again! We really thought he would have outgrown it by now so we are back to no “yummy” foods again.
Is Marisa feeling better?

InactiveOh no! How long with no yummy foods? How is he eating now?
M seems better – still congested and tired but no fever since Saturday.
Was up screaming from 4:30-5:30 though – not sure if the prunes
yesterday upset her tummy or just her continuing constipation issues…March 28, 2006 at 8:28 am #4796Anonymous
InactiveWell the ped said he wants us to try milk again in a month he is starting to eat better but still not enough. He is still super grouchy today and not sleeping much at all.
I am glad Marisa is a little bit better! Constipation is just so hard on them. I hope she feels all better soon!

InactiveSarah – I just wanted to tell you that my daughter was MSPI and didn’t grow out of most of it until 20 months or so and our rule of thumb was a three month waiting period in-between any type of intro to dairy or soy that failed.. .I would say play on the safe side and don’t rush it. It takes atleast two weeks for offending proteins to get out of the system and by the time hes adjusted it will be right back on the roller coaster if your re-intro dairy too soon. Introing diary too early can also cause a whole other set of problems and make life miserable too so don’t be afraid to tell the doc you would rather wait a while longer. Its a lot of stress on everyone involved (especially when theres reactions) so why not wait until the warmer weather when virus/cold season is over and Isaac has had time to get back to “normal?”
Typically “growing out of it” ages are 18-24 months so your almost there regardless (hopefully :-).
Good luck ~Liz
