InactiveWe pay $186 a month for Zegerid. That’s with insurance! I was told it was almost $500 without and we are on the low to mid dosing. I paid about $40 for prevacid and nearly $80 for Axid. I now understand why some senior citizens have to make the choice between meds and food. It’s truly sad.
BTW I was at Wal-mart this weekend and they handed me a 4 page sheet of $4.00 prescriptions (nope no prevacid or zegerid sorry) that’s with or without insurance.

Keymasteranother FYI: someone told me recently that Costco has cheaper medications than most pharmacies and you don’t have to be a Costco member to use the pharmacy- just tell the person at the door that you’re going to the pharmacy and they let you in- but, you can’t go shopping anywhere else w/o being a member- just the pharmacy…

InactiveLynn:
OUCH – that’s a lot for Zegerid – I hope you are at least using the $30.00 coupon on their web site. We pay (after insurance and the coupon) about $36.00 for 2 boxes of the Zegerid which lasts us some over a month. If we would have to pay out of pocket, it would be about $269.00 for the two boxes. Thank God for insurance!! Have you checked into different pharmacies?

InactiveThat’s what it says on my receipt actual cost vs insurance cost. I work for a health care system and we are self-insured so I don’t know if that’s why or what. I’ve thought about looking into a different pharmacy but I can do payroll deduct with pre-tax dollars and I get health care reimbursement at the end of the year. So I hope it’s a trade off.
Oh yes I used the coupon this month! YEAH! I hope they keep them coming after December.

InactiveDUH! I had to go to the pharmacy today and get an antibiotic for myself and as I go to pay the guy asks if I want the rest of Kayleigh’s zegerid since it finally came in. I was dumbfounded to say the least…turns out I was given a 3 month supply for 186 but they only had one box and I guess I didn’t see/get the little slip of paper saying they owed me meds. Since this was the first time we had got this strength I just assumed we only got one box.
So Natalie that would explain the cost difference you asked about. I never questioned it but I thought I might next month, good thing I kept my mouth shut. Not usually one of my strong suits. Whew not as expensive as I was budgeting!
