is it too risky? i am still breastfeeding and would like to continue for as long as I possibly can but lately I’ve been craving sushi!! (and no, I’m not pregnant
I woldn’t risk it but my ob/gyn told me that if I trust the place I could have some when I was pregnant. Should I wait until I stop breastfeeding?? I wouldn’t want to expose my child to unnecessary diseases.Good question.
I would love to know the answer too.I don’t eat sushi when I’m pregnant, but I have once or twice while I’ve been nursing.
If you’re worried about it, you could try making your own sushi and just used cooked meats instead of raw. I make homemade sushi all the time. It’s pretty easy, and I’ve used cooked salmon and crab. Pretty tasty!
OK, now I want sushi for dinner.
But to answer your question. I did eat sushi while BF (only occasionally), but I stayed away from Tuna (becuase of the mercury). When I was pregant I only ate cooked sushi. Also, I went to the reputable places and told them I was pregnant and that they needed to clean the knife before cutting my sushi rolls. (I was not a neurotic first time mom or anything.)Sorry Emily
I had them for dinner last night…YUM!! I haven’t had them in over a year and it was goooooood!
