InactiveFor all you breastfeeding mama’s.. Since I have NO CLUE 😉
The lady i work for still breastfeeds her 24 mos. old daughter! And wants to stop…but doesnt know how. She said she has basically cut it down to one time a day (at night)… but, her daughter won’t stop. She will run up to her and basically put her hand down her shirt and BEG for it!Sooo.. how does she stop?? She said that she didnt even know how much she even produced anymore!! So it seems like a comfort kinda thing to me. (Shane does it with his bottle..even when he isnt thirsty)Any advice??Thanks in advance!shanesmom 2007-10-03 22:30:34 October 4, 2007 at 2:47 pm #43759Anonymous
InactiveWhat I did with Claire when I was down to only the 1 bedtime feed was to start letting dh put her to bed! It worked like a charm. He would read her a book, say prayers and she could have some milk in a sippy cup during all of this, then he would sing and put her in her bed and I would come in right at the end to kiss and hug her goodnight! Inactivethanks claire.. but even more complicated. its not like right before bed..like how most kids get a bottle.. its right when she walks in the house from work!! the girl will RUN to her mom..and start reaching for it! The mom doesnt sleep with her anymore. The dad and the girl sleep in the mom and dads bed! And the mom sleeps in her own bed! She said if she didnt..then the daughter would want to breast feed all night.

KeymasterThere are some who would say to put a band-aid on the breasts and say no, mama has a boo boo- hurts mama
to put the toddler offthis always sounded harsh to me, but it’s what I’ve heard, even from my lactation consultant…then try to distract, maybe leave the house for dad to put her to bedI dont knowI’m down to 1x a day w/ ari- the early am wake up call, lol, so I can get back to sleep for a bit longeri went ot 15months with jonah & ari is almost therei’d like to stop but dont know what’ll happen at 5am or 5:30am if I don’t breastfeed him-guess it means i’ll be up for the day
anyway, back to you friend: maybe call:The La Leche League Breastfeeding Helpline – US began on June 1, 2007. Everyone in the U.S.A. has access to toll free breastfeeding help 24 hours a day. Just call 1-877-4-LALECHE (1-877-452-5324). -
