I just found this site so forgive me if I am not as smart as others and I am asking the same question over again. But ALL this info is overwhelming to me.
Anyway my child has reflux but sounds like not as bad as some I have read on here..but I was seeing several doctors as a new mother and now am confused I from SOMEWHERE got the dose of Prevacid twice a day that makes it 30mgs, well when I told the pedi what I was giving him she went into shock and said that it was too much and will not write a scrip for that much and I told her that I thought the Specialist told me to give him that much but that now I am confused she told me to cut back to 1/2 tablet a day and until I show her the scrip from the specialist she will not give me more. So we cut back, now comes the crying, can’t sleep, and while sleeping starts to scream out of a deep sleep just like before I am sure the acid is coming up and burning his lil throat it’s what I am thinking right? After 2 weeks of the prevacid at 2 a day he started sleeping 6-7 hours and not as fussy, and eating every 4 hours instead of 1 1/2-2, over all becoming a good baby 🙁 but that come to an end this past few days when we cut back. SO my question is 30mg of prevacid too much for an infant? He is almsot 3 months and weighs 15lbs and most of that is due to him wanting to eat to sooth the pain of the burning. Iso need help I called the nurse to the specialist and she has not called back please help me!!
