YAYYY! With enough bugging, I got the 30mg of Prevacid today from our ped. I have asked a few times before at appts. and faxed once before. This time, I printed just about the WHOLE marci-kids site out and sent it with the fax. Before, I have only included the dosing calculator part. Our ped called me back a little while ago to let me know that she would call in the script. She actually thanked me, b/c she said I did all the work for her. Which concerns me a little, but oh well WE GOT 30 mg BABY!
Hopefully, it doesn’t take long to notice the increase. I am at my wits end today
, so this COULD NOT have come at a better time.
Okay, so I am really noticing the difference. His sleep is so much better, yayyy. His feeds were getting really bad again and I have noticed the biggest difference in this area. For some reason, his last feed of the night (7-7:15ish) has always been REALLY bad. When he is not medicated well he gulps and has really really bad Sandifers posturing (torticollosis to the right and a bad writhing of his right arm). Not sure why its always to the right. This stuff has gone away with the med increase. All good here hopefully for a long while. He is crawling really well, hopefully soon he’ll be cruising so he’ll take some pressure off of his tummy. My ped did tell me that I should be in medical research. I confessed that I didn’t write the letter, another fab reflux momma did (thanks Laura
). She told me that I am definitely the most informed mother she has ever had. Like you said Naomi, peds can’t really stay on top of everything new. They have to be informed in so many areas (rashes, infections, allergies, etc.) it MUST be hard to do it all.
