Info on compounds

My ds is on 8mg 3xday of the prevacid and it is compounded by our pharmacy. I was finally able to get them to make it with the 16.8% sodium bicarbonate and today I asked them to make it without flavouring and asked for a flavouring on the side. She asked me why to which I told her the reason and she asked where I am getting my info from. I told her from Marci-kids(explaining who they are). She told me that they have found that the suspension is stable for 2 weeks. I then told her that Marci-kids has done extensive research and she said so have they. *me rolling my eyes*.

So anyway, my question is, is there anywhere I can find this researched info so that I can print it off and show it to her?

I agree with Laura… I’d also call marci-kids. We found out that when the compounds are talking about stability, they’re looking at the amount of time it takes for the pH to change from neutral. When marci-kids was talking about stability, my understanding is that they were talking about the amount of time it took for the drug to start breaking down, i.e. turning brown. Our compounding pharmacy told me that it was normal for the suspension to turn brown over time and that it didn’t mean that it was bad b/c the pH was still fine, but I found out from marci-kids that wasn’t true. The fact that it was changing colour meant that it was being degraded. Good luck. I’d also ask for a printout of all the ingredients put into the compound.
