Introducing solids to NG tube fed baby

Hi there

My daughter is 6.5months.

NG tube for severe reflux/oral aversion. Tube inserted at 3months.

Oral aversion is only to bottle. Does take pacifier

Also has milk protein allergy

Absoltley refuses bottle. Cries the moment it hits lips

Started solids 2 weeks ago. Refuses to swallow. Holds solids in mouth

The spits then out. Gags. Becomes irritable the moment she realizes

What’s going on.

I can’t help but be sad over this 🙁 I know she’s just 6 months and

We just started but i can’t help but stress

Any advice. Success stories etc would be nice

Hi and welcome to this site! I am SO sorry that your little one is to the point of not eating! That has to be really tough. Although my children suffered badly from digestive problems, they never got to that point. I have created a blog that tells about what all we went through and what we found to help. I also have several stories on there from other moms that have found help for their little ones. These 2 were facing having to have feeding tubes put into their children.

if it doesn’t work, what I did was to go to the upper right-hand corner of this page & clicked on the ‘search’ button
I seared for feeding aversion and I chose 6 months & OLDER from the drop-down menu
(this is to get info from people who don’t post anymore- they don’t post bcse their babies got better!)
