InactiveI’ve had two people in the last day tell me my baby has colic. The first asked me if I had tried colic tablets – as if!! (The answer is yes, by the way…about 7 weeks ago!) The second was my MIL last night…who described my baby as cranky, colicky, having an upset tummy and – my personal favorite – a “bad baby”.
She wanted to know why the baby wouldn’t smile and be happy…maybe because she has an actual health problem?!?!?! (sigh)
But my question for you mommies is this…for any of you that have/are BF’ing your babies, have you noticed that caffeine makes reflux worse? I avoided caffeine when I was pregnant (only because it makes my heart beat fast, not for any other reason) and have pretty much stayed away from it since Sophia was born. But, we had a really bad night last night and the only thing I could figure out that I had different than normal was butter in a cinnamon roll (sigh…I knew it was too good to be true that I could have SOMETHING normal again!) and caffeine in a couple cups of tea. I’m hoping it was the caffeine??? And not a sign that the medicine isn’t working!
Hope you are all doing great with your little ones!!
p.s…3 nights in a row, Miss Sophia has slept 5 hours on her Tucker Sling. I am a new mommy on sleep!

InactiveButter, could be it…. Caffine never bothered my kids…… But I drank a pop a day during both pregnancies! Yes, I’m a caffine addict!

Inactivefor sure could be the caffeine. It bothered both of mine. But it could be the butter too. Only way to know for sure, unfortunately, is trial and error.

InactiveI’m sorry you are left guessing. I’d say it could probably be one or both. I’m not much help. But YAY for the sleep!!!!

I avoided caffeine when pregnant with Jonah but with Ari I had one cup of coffee a daycaffeine didn’t seem to affect my babies either when breastfeeding…but I have heard that it does affect some…if it’s the butter, it might take a week to clear out of your system- that is if you’ve been milk protein free for 2 +plus weeks- if you’ve been eating dairy all along then I rather doubt butter would do it? -
