InactiveMy LO is 6.5 months old. We are using the 20mg packs. I am mixing it like Dr P has told me too. I cut down his dose to 5 ml once a day because the sodium b. in it was causing major gas and bloating after the 2 daily dose.
Well then it appeared he was doing very well that way and the Pedi told me to try him with out medication, well, after a week it was apparent he still has silent reflux. Started the gagging and coughing so I put him back on the zegerid, once a day.well…he is going a little better, not as much coughing and gagging but he is still spitting up a little and is getting a little fussy in the late afternoon but I know I can’t give him a second daily dose because of what happened before.
i know my pedi was going to try just straight prilosec once, but my insurance won’t pay for it.what would you ladies suggest? What about OTC Prilosec? If so, how do you give it?
I really hate this ebcause the zegerid do so well for several months.

InactiveYou could do the Prilosec OTC with bufferbabies or even the prevacid OTC that way. I don’t know cost wise which would be cheaper… another option is to try some Zantac or Axid in the afternoon to see if that would do the trick.

InactiveThank you for the advice.
Do you know how to mix the prilosec OTC and how much to give?
Also, is buffer babies sodium bicarb?

InactiveI am sorry but I have no experience with Prilosec or Bufferbabies as my DS was on prevacid solutabs. Hopefully someone who has used it or is using it can chime in and be of some help.
