InactiveHi,
Our 14 week old son is on prevacid solutab 15m twice a day. He is still very fussy, doesn’t sleep well and wants to feed all the time. I think he’s on a high dose already, so don’t know what to do ?
His sister (2.5 years is still on losec)

InactiveJust in case you weren’t aware…Do you give the med on an empty stomach followed by a meal 30-60 minutes later? This is what’s needed for the med to do it’s job. My other suggestion would be that maybe he’s not tolerating the aspartame in the solutabs. Have you considered switching forms of med if necesary. How long has he been on the solutabs? They need a good 2 weeks to get into thier systems and start showing signs of improvement.
Have you looked into diet? Is he BF or formula fed? Intolerance/allergy can be another issue if meds don’t seem to be helping. How are his stools – Frequent, runny, mucousy? Does he strain to poo only to have soft stools? Any eczema, rash? These are just a few things to look at when looking for signs of intolerance. HTH!

InactiveOur first baby also had sever reflux. We’ve gone through the whole thing. I tried everything with her. I was talking to Dr Phillip from Marci kids and tried several options on my daughter. We then had to fly her to London for treatment. My wife tried everything with her. The diet thing as she was purely breast fed,but had a horrible feeding aversion my daughter is still on Losec now (2.5 yrs old). My son, on the other hand wants to feed all the time and is always fussy. He is purely breast fed and cries his eyes out every hour or two if he’s not fed. His mom in on the diet. The problem now is that he wakes up every hour to two at night. He used to sleep for 4 hours at a time, but now he got worse. The dr told us to spread his feeds to 3-4 hours, but we can’t as he will scream. We started the prevacid about 3 weeks ago with no major improvement.
