ok, well I’ll calculate for 13 lbs & you can see if the dose for his weight makes any difference?
13lbs = 5.9 kilos
maximum dosing for zantac is 10mgs per kilo
Don’t just take my word on this!
read here:
Zantac dosing– my/other’s question (has axid & pepcid doses, too):
https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8288&PN=1
ok 10 x 5.9 = 59
that’s 59 mgs of zantac total for the day
your bottle of liquid zantac says 15mgs/ml
this means that for every 1ml of liquid you give, there’s 15mgs of the medicine zantac in that 1ml of liquid
so: 59 divided by 15 = 3.9 mls total for the day of zantac (I’d round up to 4 mls)
you can divide into two or three doses and the doses do not have to be ‘even’
you must space zantac 4hrs from a PPI
