My little one is on prevacid 15 mg. I know it’s not enough, but I can’t seem to convience his ped or the gi specialist. Anyway, I’m not positive of what is going on and just needed some other minds. I give him his prevacid between 6 and 7 and then feed him 30 min after. I am breastfeeding. Anyway, he will stay on me for about 2 hours suckling before I know he is asleep enough for me to put him down. He will give me one good long stretch. Usually about 6 hours for him and then he will wake up. I will bounce him back to sleep and about 30 mins later he wakes again. I will get up again and bounce him again and after 30 mins he is awake again. We do this for about 3 hours until it is time for him to take his prevacid again. When I say bounce him by the way, it is because he sleeps in a bouncy chair. Anyway, I have tryed changing his diaper, burping him, and nursing him to sleep again. No matter what I try he will still wake in 30 mins. It seems to me that his meds are wearing off. Does that sound right or am I just expecting him to sleep longer than he should? It seems to me that a baby should sleep more than 6 hrs at night. I know that he will wake frequently to eat, but this just seems weird to me.

will he take a pacifier? or are you ok w/ being a human pacifier, LOL? Sorry- NOT judging you by ANY means!! it’s hard to denote tone by writing!!

maybe try getting him to sleep earlier? later?

maybe after 2hrs of the prevacid dose (are you splitting it up into 2 doses for the day? I would split it ‘unevenly’ and give the higher portion at night, since this seems to be the ‘worst’ for you guys) & he’s up, I’d give some pepsid and see what happens…then the next time I’d try some mylanta cherry supreme…

you can also ask your ped GI about carafate…

I would totally ask about splitting the dose to twice a day with your doc.
