InactiveToday we met with the nutritionist for Chloe. She gave us samples of elecare (vanilla flavored) for over one year olds and E
28 Splash which is made be neocate. Has anyone tried this E
28 Splash with their LO? I don’t remember anyone mentioning this before. Is this a new product? It actually didn’t taste as bad as I thought it would.(She gave us grape and tropical fruit).
It’s so frustrating, we had been trying to transition Chloe from BM to soy formula and it took so long to get her to drink some from a sippy. And now we put the piece together that it was the soy giving us so many problems (a little history… since the end of April Chloe has been gagging and puking a lot. we attributed it to the Zegerid and the ordeal that it was to give it to her especially since it was always at the meal she received the zegerid. we finally decided to take her off of the zegerid in June but she kept vomiting once every day or every other day. One day I put the connection together that she puked on days she and/ or I ate more soy yogurt or formula. I stopped the soy for 2 weeks and not a single puke and the gagging stopped I started up the soy again and she started gagging and puking)
I am really hoping she will take to one of these because I am having a really hard time keeping up my milk supply.(although I will be very sad giving up BF I will miss our special times together and Chloe is such a little acrobat when she drinks that it really makes us laugh).
I guess I need to hear success stories of people who have gotten their VERY picky 1 year old to transition to one of these drinks.
Sorry for the rambling post. TIAJuly 12, 2007 at 9:37 pm #39106Anonymous

InactiveLauren,
Here is the website link http://www.actagainstallergy.com/aaa/1124-act-against-allergy-homepage.htmlGo into the section on “neocate info” and once you find it at the bottom click on the picture and it will put you on the neocate website with more info
I don’t know if I would call it a juice. It looks similar to milk but it smells like the flavorings in medicine and tastes…well my palate doesn’t like it but Chloe has not outright refused it so I am cautiously optimistic.
I was hoping that we could try rice milk, I thought it might be more tasty for Chloe but the nutritionist said it didn’t have enough protein. Oh well, I guess if this works we’ll be paying $107 for 27 8 oz packages
. Well, whatever works I guess

InactiveWe tried the EO2 and Carson didn’t do well on it. That was when he was about 18 months old. Carson drank it ok and thought the straw was *fun* but he started having bad nights and bad diapers. Our nutritionist said they do have a few *problem patients* who cannot tolerate the EO2 juice.
Good luck! It should taste better than neocate at least!July 13, 2007 at 3:00 pm #39159hellbennt
