My daughter was diagnosed (through symptoms) at 6 weeks with reflux. She was given 8ml of zantac twice a day. That wasnt helping and of the symptoms so after two weeks I pretty much forced the Dr to give her Prevacid. She is on 15mg of the solutab.
She was born a month early and was 6lbs 13oz. She now weighs 13lbs even. At her last appt 6 weeks ago she was 12lbs 14oz naked and hadnt been fed yet. On the same scale 6 weeks later she was 13lbs fully clothed (dont as kwhy they told me to keep her clothed ), she had just eated and she had a full wet diaper (since she had just eaten)
Suzannah is strictly breastfed and only has a BM once a week. When she does have a BM it is SO mucousy. It is normal colored (mustardy and seedy) but is so mucousy. She also vomits mucous about once a day. Its like the mcous that you can stretch two+inches.
She coughs, gags, gasps, hiccups. arches, cramps up, and doesnt actually spit up.
Iknow I have enough breast milk ( she is a constant nurser but I still will get engorged if I havent fed her in two hours)
She is also suddenly a really fussy nurser. She went from sleeping 10 hrs at a time to barely anything.
She cries from the moment she opens her eyes until I feed her. The moment I take her off she is crying again.
We have our first GI appt scheduled for the 21st of Dec. Any thoughts on what they will be looking for? What she might have?
Do you think its just reflux or maybe more? She has never had a green BM.
