Hello-
I am a momma to a 4.5yr old and a 2month old little girls. My 2 mo old has severe acid reflux. We were on pepcid at 2 weeks of life and then put on Zantac. Both worked for about three weeks each and then the projectile started. We just went to a GI yesterday and he put her on Previcid. She has horrible pain and I feel helpless. We do the cereal in the bottle, keep her upright, and burp after feedings. She usually is in pain around 8 pm at night and screams (her colic time). I was told that aloe vera juice can help with the pain, has anyone used this? Any other suggestions? I just feel so bad, and want to make shre as comfortable as I can.

April 15, 2013 at 7:54 am #72041AnonymousInactiveWe are formula feeding simalac advanced, do not believe that it is an allergy to milk. She was getting better and now is spitting up pure acid. Waiting for a call, I am pushing for the barrium test so we can see what’s going on in her body… any other suggestions?
April 15, 2013 at 2:43 pm #72047hellbenntKeymasterhow old is she now?
what meds is she on? what dose? how much does she weigh? The barium test ‘just’ looks for structural abnormalities- it doesn’t ‘find’ reflux- it’s a snapshot in time- if baby isn’t refluxing at the moment of the test that does not mean baby doesn’t have reflux- just means baby wasn’t refluxing at time of the test…April 15, 2013 at 3:34 pm #72050AnonymousInactiveShe is on previcid 1x day 2mls and zantac 2x day. She is 10 weeks old and way 10 lbs 12 oz

April 19, 2013 at 11:55 am #72094AnonymousInactivePLEASE consider giving a supplement of probiotics and digestive enzymes to your little one. The enzymes will help tremendously with breaking food down better. Many babies are low on probiotics. Probiotics are the good live bacteria that coat and protect our entire digestive system.
Please read this thread for more details on how probiotics and enzymes could possibly help your little one. https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=16038
