InactiveShannon-
I’m glad to hear that you got a good response from your doctor yesterday… I’m a bit jealous that they knew about marci-kids. I feel like I know more about this than the doctors but I have to at least pretend to follow what they think – – ego boost? I just hate it when they look at me like I’m overreacting or doing things that are unnecessary (like timing of the meds).
I ought to update you on us though and let you know that we have decided that 15 mg is not working for us. Yesterday evening was bad. She was stiff and crying. She clearly wanted to eat but would only suck a little and then push it away. SO I called the doctor and we have an appointment this morning. I think we’ve been positive long enough and have made enough excuses and tried enough different things to know she needs more meds…

InactiveI hope your doctor is helpful to you today, it sucks when we see them in pain and uncomfortable and the dr.s just give the standard stuff.
At my appt there was a student intern with my dr, and she was in shock of what we deal with she was ready with the standard basics of you know keeping elevated, getting a good bottle, and feeding little amounts….then my actual doc responded to her by saying–we are well beyond those measures at this point….
It is frusterating…I went through many doctors with my 2 year old before they would take his symptoms seriously (he has celiac, but we didnt know at the time…) so when I found one I just stuck with him even though hes pretty tough to get into these days…
anyways, sorry to hear the 15mg isnt working and good luck with the doctor!

InactiveHow cool that he had heard of Marci-kids and switched her to Zegerid. Hope it goes well for her!!

InactiveGreat news about the Zegerid! I hope she’s feeling better soon. I definitely agree that it’s best to try the meds for two weeks before trying another formula. It gets too confusing when you make multiple changes.
Good luck with her Upper GI. Myles had one done and it wasn’t too bad. You may want to bring along one of her bottles if she’s particular about nipple shapes and such. This way they can pour the barium into her own bottle if she refuses the one they use.
That’s an interesting diaper rash treatment. My children’s doctor once told me to use bacitracin on one of Liza’s diaper rashes and it cleared it right up. I guess some diaper rashes actually have a bacterial component. I never knew that until that time with Liza. Is clormitrazole an antifungal agent? My girls used to get fungal diaper rashes and the antifungal agents (like Monistat) always helped. I hope this concoction clears up her rash quickly.
Sounds like you have a great doctor! Good luck and keep us posted.
