Peanuts

Seth’s ped. advised that peanuts (and everything else) were okay at one year but I have read elsewhere it is best to hold off until three years to prevent possible allergies. What are you all doing?

We’ve stayed away from them, but I do know parents who give them to their kids. We have given Owen honey that is in stuff, like honey pretzles, etc. We did give him whole eggs too once he was a year and that’s been fine. I don’t think we’ve stayed away from anything else, but peanuts scare me a little.

I have a mild peanut allergy, so we’ve decided to hold off until at least 2 years, possibly longer. With all of her other allergy issues, we don’t want to take unnecessary chances!

I’m waiting on peanuts until he’s at least two. Probably with most other nuts as well. I’m also putting off egg white. Since he’s already had food allergies/intolerances, I think it’s safer to wait.

jonah accidentally ate peanut butter at about 12months and was fine, thank god! we were at the park and on a blanket of a friend and there were all kinds of toddlers and jonah is a PIGGIE and a scavenger so before I know it I see him munching on something and it was one of those ritz cracker peanut butter sandwich snacks- eeks! Thank god he was fine!!! I was ready to run home for the bendryl!

we did eggs at 12months but not really honey for some reason- I guess I don’t really use it, lol, but he did have it in things- again, other people’s snacks

people used to think I didn’t feed my kid, LOL

We haven’t done peanuts yet. That and shellfish is really the only thing I haven’t given her and make sure people know not to give it. I’m just paranoid I guess.

I did eggs and honey at a year.

I really wish Hailey would have an accidental exposure to peanuts so that I could get it overwith already. I’ll probably give it after she’s 2.
