InactiveOk, I have the Pepcid Complete and am ready to try it tonight. I have a question though. How long is it supposed to last? And how often can it be given to an infant? Should I plan to only give it once right before bedtime? How long does it take to kick in? I mean, should I just give it right before bedtime or awhile before?
Thanks! (REALLY hoping this will make a difference – even if just for ONE night

InactiveIf I am remembering correctly Dr. Phillips says you can give it twice a day (1/2 a tablet each time), but I think only once if he’s on a PPI as well.
I take it and it generally works in about 30 minutes and lasts all night long.

Good luck. I hope Caden does well with it.

Inactivei was told to give half a tablet with a teaspoon of water before bedtime. this is in conjuction with the 30 mg of prevacid he is on during the day. should last all night. should really help you if acid is the problem. good luck!

InactiveAn Update on the Pepcid Complete:
Last night was a “better” night. I could actually count the number of times Caden nursed rather than just an all night nursing fest. I only remember him nursing 3 times! That is a LOT better than what he has been doing.
However, I will say that he was also VERY tired last night and cried a bit before going to sleep, so it could have been that too. I won’t know if the Pepcid was the reason he was better until I’ve tried it a few more times.
At any rate, I’m encouraged!

I’ll post another update after I’ve tried it for several nights straight.
Thanks for your advice and help

InactiveTherese,
I meant to mention that the new pic of Alana standing up is SO precious! What a cutie. She’ll be walking before you know it and into everything

Have a great day!

InactiveChristine, have you found the Pepcid Complete to help you more than other antacids like TUMS or Mylanta? I may run out and get some at lunch.

InactiveTiffany,
Yes, definitely. Tums works for a few hours. I never tried Mylanta (I have a strong gag reflex and I’d barf I’m sure
) but I think it would be the same as Tums. Pepecid Complete lasts all night for me.

Inactivemom2seth,
I’ll let you know if Pepcid Complete works well for Caden. I have tried Mylanta, and it never did anything for him.
Last night was our first night trying Pepcid Complete, and he DID sleep better. I’m just not positive it was because of the Pepcid. I’ll let you know if it continues to help him.

InactiveWe tried it with Hailey and it didn’t help her, even though reflux is the problem. I hope the rest of you have better results.

InactiveOk, we tried the Pepcid Complete and guess what? Seth slept through the night!!!!
I hope I am not jinxing myself. I even got up about 5 to check on him because he was so quiet, I was worried something was wrong. Another change yesterday, I took his Prevacid to work with me and gave it to him on the ride home. He always gets a snack for the commute and I was starting to wonder if it was too much food before the PM dose of Prevacid I would give him before dinner. This also helps space out the Prevacid and antacid before bedtime a little further apart.
I’ll keep you posted. We are a little of schedule today though (he’s just now napping). He has pink eye in both eyes and his ped. told me to keep him home today
…..Oh, I did see on the Pepcid Complete bottle not to give with any other acid reducers what does this mean?
