Inactivelast night i woke up and was flipping through the tv channels. there was a program on that had to be porn—-this wasn’t any R-rated nudity scene. apparently, it must be “scrambled” because there were lines through the faded picture and the sound turned to static off and on. however, you could see VERY well what was going on and the sound was very understandle part of the time……it was really easy to hear the woman say “show me what else you’re good at!!”
what if one of my kids had been the one to discover this on the TV??? i thought it was illegal to put porn on cable television. even if it is legal, why is it being scrambled so poorly? years ago i can remember waking up and going out to turn the tv off when kevin had fallen asleep on the couch. he had been watching another “scrambled” channel that had a good movie on it. after he fell asleep, a porn program had come on. i was trying to get to the tv to turn it off without looking at what was on the screen—-and was pretty glad that it was me that had woken up instead of one of my kids—–kevin was oblivious to whatever was on. not too long ago, at almost 7 in the morning, he told me to go turn on a certain channel and see what was on.(another supposedly scrambled channel)it was a little more difficult to see and hear, but it was a porn show—-and our children were up and getting ready for school. he was able to program the channel out of the automatic line-up, but if you punched the numbers in, you could still get the channel.
i’ll be calling the cable company today to make sure that that channel is gone—-TODAY!!! have any of you run into this kind of problem with your cable company?

Inactivethis is really weird—-i called the cable company and they said that they are not sending out a signal for this channel. where and how is our television picking this signal up???!!!

InactiveWe actually get porn on our regular TV…. and it’s NOT scrambled. It’s pretty disturbing. Not sure what type of TV service you have, but most let you block out channels that you don’t want.

InactiveI think you standard tv antenna can pick up channels if they are close enough and they have a strong enough signal.

Inactivethey can’t block it for me because it is not their signal. we don’t know where it is coming from. i’m going to ask the neighbors to see if any of them are on the same cable company and are having the same problem.
kevin has been after me to check the history on the computer, so i finally was looking at it today. there were not any porn sights, but my son has got quite a few of those u-tube videos on his history. i don’t even know how to describe what they are except that they are gross. after seeing too much of that porn program last night—and after looking at those u-tube vidoes—-i feel so YUCKY!!!!
is there any way of telling what a website on the history is—-without having to click on it and actually see it?

InactiveChristine…you haven’t been taking those tablets again

I hate it when you click on a site and the porn comes up on the computer…don’t think there is much you can do about it other than get some kind of program that blocks them (but I don’t think they are totally foolproof). One in Aus is called Net Nanny I think.

InactiveOh, my. I saw on the news once that one local cable company “by mistake” put hard core porn on Disney channel. They quickly fixed the problem but I’m sure lots of parents were answering very uncomfortable questions that night.
