InactiveUGH! I am so frustrated. Why is that everything I try works for ONE week and then goes downhill shortly after??
5 days on Zegerid and I had a new baby. Happy, no crying, sleeping and gained a half a pound. Now her symptoms are back at night and she is waking every 2 hours in pain again. Not eating well, and only gained 1 ounce this week.
She is on 24 mgs split 3 doses a day. I feel like I have no course of action now. What more can I do? I can’t just keep upping her dose!
I am taking her to a Homeopathic Dr. this week. And doing a Prick test for environmental allergens next week.
Other than, maybe switch to Elecare?
I am SOOOOOOO tired of seeing her in pain. And of course, I am just plain tired from being up all night.
I am going to try to give the zegerid more time, but each day it’s getting worse and worse.

InactiveHave you had regular allergy testing done? Sounds like its something other than reflux at hand here. . .seeing as your already doing the Neocate I would assume you have known dietary issues going on? Have they done a stomach biopsy for EE?

InactiveSame thing with my 6 month old. Joel recommended 30 mgs of zegerid, split 3x a day. But I had to go back to prevacid, I think she can’t tolerate the sucralose in the zegerid, she threw up a ton everytime i gave it to her. Also, I have to use zantac right before bedtime now.
I hate that everything works for 1 week and then goes downhill! We went to the allergist last week too, waiting for the blood test to come back, so I know what foods to avoid, i had to beg the doc, i told her that when the reflux gets aggrevated, it doesn’t just stop in a few hours it lasts for a week or so. Anyways, she has ezcema now which seems to be getting better since we got of nutramigen. They never offered the scratch test for irritants, i better ask for it. Crazy how i feel like i have to diagnose everything and ask for my own testing!! Maybe I should go homeopathic like you! Wish it was covered by insurance, the neocate is making me broke!

InactiveWe never saw a 100% improvement on a PPI. The PPI can help but it’s no cure. For us, time and dietary changes were the best we could do until she grew out of the situation.

Keymaster5 days isn’t enough to ‘tell’-
it took until day 12 until the PPI kicked in for Jonah…

InactiveYou may want to use mylanta to at least give it a chance to kick in. We couldn’t tell a difference until about 2 weeks after starting a ppi. It is the worst 2 weeks!
