PPIs other than omeprazole or lansoprazole?

Is anyone using a PPI other than omeprazole (Prilosec, Zegerid) or lansoprazole (Prevacid)?? Prevacid just doesn’t seem to control my little guy’s reflux symptoms at the MARCI-kids dose, and omeprazole seems to have side effects for him.

I was wondering if anyone is experienced in using any of the other PPIs? Are there dosing recommendations for Nexium or the others?

We’re starting Nexium packets tonight. I’ll let you know how it goes! Doing 10 mg twice a day. The packets need to be mixed into 1 tablespoon (15mL) of water. You then let it sit for a couple minutes to thicken and give on an empty stomach, preferably followed up with a feeding 30-45 minutes later.

Reid wasn’t getting any relief on Prevacid (tried both the disintegrating tablets and the capsules) and was having some side effects on the omeprazole (sleep problems and he stopped babbling/cooing).

Good luck Sheri! I hope the Nexium helps! I know of several moms who have had great luck with their LOs on Nexium. Overall it seems to have less side effects. Keep us posted!

i don’t know if anyone has had their child on protonix—but i have takenit myself and it worked pretty good for me—-but it did not work for my daughter kassie.
