InactiveOk, I’m starting to feel better-I’m so glad I posted to you all!
I do wonder if age has to do with it. Just the increase of allergies/reflux in general-perhaps because women are having them older? Who knows -guessing game.
Thanks Laura! I totally needed to hear it was possible. I guess our situation is a little different as I think you said Jonah had an immature spincter whereas Ian had that as well as a super immature digestive tract-he had mspi and couldn’t tolerate one solid until 7 months. Maybe the next one will be born with an intact digestive system. I’m glad you also posted the breastfeeding link. I tried to breastfeed Ian for a month. Tried taking foods out of diet, but he kept having issues and falling asleep everytime. After paying for expensive pump, many breastfeeding seminars, and a lactation specialist, we decided to surrender to formula. I’m sure that made things worse, but honestly I was so tired at the time and emotionally drained, I just couldn’t hang in there any longer. I’m going to try again and will do the ED probably about a month prior to delivery. If it doesn’t work out, I promise not to beat myself up like last time.
I’ve started taking the probiotics! I also did some research and it does appear to be beneficial so can’t hurt right??

InactiveGood luck to you! I know everything is going to work out.
I don’t see the harm in the probiotic thing, even this early, but I would just let your OB know you are on them. You have to keep us updated on how your pregnancy is going!!!December 21, 2006 at 12:08 pm #20853Anonymous
InactiveThat’s SO great Tracy! Congratulations! I don’t know if this helps at all, but we have no reflux in our family history at all, no history of allergies, and only Hailey has reflux. I took probiotics during my pregnancy, and ate dairy, so who knows what caused it for Hailey.
Sarah, my older one, did not have any of these same issues. So there is hope. But remember either way, that reflux is fleeting- at the end of tunnel (or even on the way through), you get an amazing, beautiful child. I’ve also been feeling the urge for another one lately, but dh does not want anymore (I know, it seems insane… but the desire for more comes from my heart and not my head).
Anyhow, enough rambling. I hope that you have an easy pregnancy. I’m really happy for you. Thanks for sharing the news. HUGS.

InactiveI just saw this now. CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so happy for you but totally
understand the mixed feelings too. In addition to the probiotics, I’d highly
recommend flax oil – has great beneficials oils and fatty acids in it – I used
one tablespoon a day (usually added to oatmeal).
Ian is going to be a GREAT brother. I hope you feel well – let’s try to talk and
get together soon.
