InactiveCan I still use this product for Kora who is now 2 months old? I read that they are 15mg capsules but they are the extended release. If they can be used would I only give it to her once a day like it says? Per Marci kids guidelines she should be getting 18mg I cant find reg. prevacid anywhere. I would be breaking capsules and giving her the beads with apple or pear juice.

InactivePrevacid 24 hour is regular Prevacid. They labeled it a little differently when they went OTC.

InactiveSo would it only be given once a day then compared to the 3 times? And do I give her the 15mg or 18mg? The reg. prevacid OTC that I had got a few months back wasnt 24hr either.

InactiveI gave it twice a day. First thing in the morning and before the last meal of the day. Some do better 3 times a day. You may have to expirement a little. I used the beads for awhile and then changed over to mixing it with Caracream. It was easier for me.

InactiveThank you so much Laura! I actually called the office and I believe Dave was who I spoke with. He wouldn’t give me Dr. Phillips e-mail address. Told me to use the “ask Marci Kids” link on the website which shows for me that its still under construction. But I will be e-mailing him now. Thanks again!

InactiveI was going to copy and paste but my phone won’t let me. So I will just re-write it. Question 1: Do I give the prevacid 24hr once a day and do I still follow the Marci-kids guidelines? A: It is still given 3 times a day when using our guidelines for dosing. Even though it is extended release the child will still metabolize it the same as any other form of prescribed prevacid.

InactiveMy phone only allows 500 characters so I have to post the 2nd question here. Question 2: My daughters dose per Marci-kids guidelines is 18mg split in 3 doses, when using the prevacid otc beads, how do I get an exact dose? Do you know how much medicine is in each bead? A: Use of Caracream MAX wil eliminate all the guessing work when it comes to using the otc capsules. So thats it! Hubby and I will be ordering Caracream MAX today.

InactiveI hate my phone lol. I think doing OTC is a great option if parents can afford it. It takes out all the unneeded hassle when dealing with impossible doctors such as mine and insurance issues. I believe in Dr. Phillips and his research, it saved me once 2yrs ago and I believe it will make an incredible difference this time too. Thanks to Dr. Phillips my son didn’t have to suffer and now neither does my little girl. Dr. Phillips sure is an angel with everything he has done and is still doing!
