Keymastercheck dose there
you must also check the FORM (not a compound made my your pharmacy, as these are KN OWN not to be made correctly, despite the pharmacist insisting it is)]and ADMINISTRATION…CHECK Prevacid 101 (running out door- go to upper right hand corner of page, click search and search for Prevacid 101 you will find it

InactiveThanks for the reply. i went to the website, but it is currently under construction! I have the solutabs, and am giving half a tab once a day. I know it is recomended to split the dose and give twice a day, but, that would mean cutting the tab into 4’s, and i feel as though that would compromise the accuracy of the dose!

KeymasterHere is Prevacid 101- this wil tell you to give the solutab on an empty stomach, followed by a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later:Prevacid 101 (last post on the page) and read all about PPIs (prilosec, prevacid):ok I did a search for you, using the key wordsprevacid dosing chart:here’s the chart for prevacid
so 1.5 x 4.1= 6.15
6.15 x 3 (this is the 3x a day part) = 18.45
I’d round it up to
18.5 mgs a day of prevacid, total for the day, for the minimum dose1.75 x 4.1 = 7.175
7.175 x 3 = 21.525
I’d round up to 21.5 mgs total for the day, for maximum dose of prevacidyou could use 15mgs and then half of that to get to 22mgs…

how much does she weigh?has she IMPROVED since you gave the second dose?if you went BACK to 7.5 would she get WORSE?December 15, 2010 at 9:10 pm #67391Anonymous
Inactivei started the second dose monday and today was the first time she has ever let me put her down. she was actually smiling and cooing for a few min. i believe this is due to the extra dose. i thought about going back to the one dose to see if there was a difference but im scared….i contacted the people at bufferbabies im considering just using thE otc prevacid with the bufferbabies if my pedi refuses to increase the dose

InactiveIf I am reading the chart correctly, my daughter would be getting 1.5mg per kg(weight) 3 times per day? How do I get the dose correct if using OTC prevacid capsule beads?

Keymasterhow much does she weigh?
find weight in kilosHere’s a handy chart to convert lbs to kilos:then when you have the kilos, you times it like you said.to use capsules, tell me what you’re looking for- usually you round up.February 16, 2011 at 8:22 pm #67844Anonymous
Inactiveupdate: Leigha has been doing great since the caracream….however the past few days have been back to square one…screaming through feeds ect…_ think she has grown so much that a higher dose is needed. I have 2 questions: After upping the dose of prvacid do you have to wait the 2 weeks to see the full effect even though she has been on the med for months? and can u give mylanta w the caracream or do u still have to space it 2hrs from the prevacid?…thx!!
February 16, 2011 at 8:32 pm #67846hellbennt
Keymasterincreased dose should be in effect fairly quicky- it’s not the initial 2 week wait…
mylanta…hmm….caracream makes it so that you can give the meds w/ food, but I don’t know about mylanta…I’d still wait the 2hrs?do you have any zantac left? you can give this seperated from the prevacid (2-4hrs seperate) -
