Prevacid: How to know when empty stomach?

So how do you give the prevacid on an empty stomach and then wait 30 minutes to feed them? How do I know if her tummy is empty?

My baby is a snacker and since it hurts to eat her she eats for just 5 minutes or so on one side about every two hours. I’m guessing I give it to her an hour and a half after she eats and then wait to feed her? Is that enough time for the stomach to be empty? Also, does it matter how much she eats afterwards?

We are using the prevacid 15mg solutabs.

i think an hour and a half would be o.k. i have heard it should be 2 hours though. but at least she will still get some benefit from it. actually, since she eats small amounts..it might empty faster anyhow.

with how much they need to eat.. i have it is supposed to be a full meal which is about 6 ounces. BUT i think less is fine… i know it worked fine on shane when he only had like 3 ounces. i am not sure what minuted in breastfeeding mean in terms of ounces though!, sorry.

I think 1.5 hrs should be OK…from what I have read, BM is metabolized faster than formula. As for how much to give…from what I have heard, a meal is better than a snack, but with BF it was so hard for me to tell. I just let Brianna eat as much as she wanted. The only dose where I knew she was getting a good sized meal was after the AM dose. Also, my ped told me around 2 months some babies get to be very efficient nursers and 5 min is all they need. Maybe she is getting more than you think. As long as she is wetting her diapers, I think everything is fine. Are you giving the entire dose at once? or spliting it up.

Adriana used to eat every two hours as well and we only waited an hour and a half to give the med. It seemed to work okay. And she was only drinking 3 ounces at a time (not the 6oz).
