since you have the 15mgs, you might want to give 7.5 two times a day (even this seems low?)?
I am NOT a medical professional, this is why I encourage you to research all you can! The University of Missouri is at the forefront of the research of PPI dosing and infants. Their ‘off shoot’ group is called marci kids.
their site, http://www.marci-kids.com, has been under construction for a bit, but there is a link to their dosing chart from Prevacid 101. The research shows that babies need two doses or even three- they have fast metabolisms and ‘zip’ through the medicine…
Yes, I’ve been researching the site and Prevacid 101. I’m confused by the dosage chart I’ve found though. Or unsure…maybe not confused.
So per the dosage chart, it reads 1 – 1.25 mg/kg. My daughter is 18lb 12 oz so that’s 8.5kg in weight. So therefore, per the dosage chart, she should be getting 8.5mg 3 times a day? (Low end of the dosage recommendation for her weight)
