I just wanted to let all of my fellow Canadians (don’t know if there are any other than me) know that the prevacid solutab has FINALLY made its way to Canada. It’s about time. It might not be stocked by your pharmacy, but after much research, I’ve been assured that it is available by special order. It only comes in 30mg tablets and the script must be written for the “prevacid fastab”…that’s what it’s called here. If your doc or pharmacy has any questions, they can call Abbott Pharmaceuticals at 514-832-7000. It can be directly ordered by them.

Thanks Tricia! I’m so excited to try it, though I realize it has its limitations for a kid with a feeding aversion (i.e it’s hard to get an empty stomach and even harder to ensure that she’ll eat 30 minutes later!). Also we just stocked up on more CaraCream which is how we’re doing the prevacid these days. But I would love to have another option in my pocket for days when we can’t be home to give the suspension. It might give us a bit more flexibility to leave the house.

we got a syringe w/ a screw cap on it and left the house w/ caracream- just stuck the syringe upright in a cooler/pack type carrier you’d put bottles in

Thanks Laura. Unfortunately Hailey doesn’t like the taste and won’t take it unless I put it in her milk… bottles are only sleep fed at home which is what leads to the trapped situation. Oh well…
