Me again! Kate’s behavior while nursing is perplexing me once again. I think it’s because we’ve had SO much trouble, I have no idea what to expect a pain-free feed to look like. I mean that I think reflux has got me so paranoid about every little thing that I find myself scrutinizing every little movement she makes wondering if the meds have failed us once again My main concern is that she pulls on and off the breast A LOT. Not like she pulls off and screams(like she used to),she just pulls off and then wants back on again. She doesn’t seem in pain but has anyone experienced this?Is it possible that she’s just playing with the idea that she can decide if she wants milk or not?Like I’ve said before she’s a really happy baby and when she first latches on and drinks there’s no sign of pain or arching or anything. It’s just mainly towards the end of nursing and sometimes in the middle. I’m so confused. We see G.I on Monday and I don’t know what to do. The only thing left is the endoscopy but could this just be part of nursing now that she’s older and more wakeful? I’m at a loss. ANY insight would be great!
Yes, it could be a distraction thing. I still used toys to keep Ben’s attention during nursing. I just hold so he can see it while he’s nursing. I’ll change toys every so often to keep him on task.
